Happy Hour Meeting
by Diane Landsberg
We hope you are well! It was great to see you all.
We had a total of 32 members and Guests at our Happy Hour Zoom meeting on Thursday evening.
President Norby welcomed everyone at 5:00 pm. The drinks varied from water, wine & beer, vodka cranberry and, thanks to Carlos Bonadies, a Covid-19 special ‘Lysoltini’. Virgilie raised her glass and led everyone in the 4-Way Toast of the Things we Think, say or Drink.
BTW. Because of your attendance and goodwill, all members will be getting a FREE drink ticket that can be used at a future live social gathering. (thx to Randy for the suggestion)

It was mentioned that since many of us are cleaning and organizing as they stay home, that we might consider storing our stuff (maybe until August) and then donating it to a Yard Sale that would be hosted by the Interact and Rotaract Clubs. They would do most of the heavy lifting. If you are interested, please let Diane know.
Guests:
Frank Fernandez, invited by Noreen. He is a former Police Officer and is currently a teacher at FIU. Many had met him a couple of years ago as he spoke at our club and assisted us to set up a walking team for the American Heart Association. Great to see you Frank!
Mark Headly, invited by Bunny. He joined us from Tuscon, Arizona, where he was shooting a movie. He used to film a series of bilingual shows that Bunny was in..
Natacha Metayer, She is currently with State Farm, and is intending to create her own jewelry line in the near future.
Tidbits
• We have stayed in touch with the Miami Yacht Club. The Chef, Server & Maintenance man were very grateful to each receive a $100 gift from our club.
• Diane stated that we have raised nearly $1000 to donate to the FIU Rotaract and Feed Miami. All funds are to support families in need that have been affected by Covid-19. Thank you all for your generosity! Your tax-deductible donation should be made out and mailed to:
Rotary Club of Miami Foundation

• Norby bounced around from person to person, engaging everyone. We enjoyed participating in 'Two Truths and One Lie'. It was a fun way to learn even more about one another. So many of us have had truly interesting experiences.
• It was discussed that we should continue to do Happy Hour meetings once a month, even when we return to normal, whenever that may be.
Please plan to attend the next Zoom meeting on Thursday, May 7th at 12:30pm
