President Noreen Timoney opened the meeting and asked Frank Voytek to share his Rotary Story with us. Each week, one of our members will join in opening the meeting and sharing their Rotary story emphasizing our “Rotary Alive” theme. We thank Frank Voytek for welcoming everyone to today’s meeting.

Zoom Etiquette:
President Noreen reminded those attending of the proper Zoom etiquette:
1. Keep yourself on mute when not speaking;
2. No eating while you are on camera;
3. Please refrain from distracting motions.
Past President Oliver Ruiz gave a moving invocation and tribute to our 99th President, Tim Ryan, who passed away surrounded by family on September 26, 2021. Tim served as President of The Rotary Club of Miami from 2015 – 2016 and was serving as Director of Speakers and Programs on the current Board.

Frank Voytek led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Past President Phil Seipp reported on the great success of The Grand Bahama Island RX District Humanitarian project that raised funds for the purchase of medical equipment for Grand Bahama Hospital on Grand Bahama Island after devastation caused by Hurricane Irma.

The project raised over $362K in funding for the hospital.

Phil Seipp thanked all who contributed to the project. He noted that individuals and other organizations had donated to this project. A special thank you was extended to Immediate Past President Robert Bull and to The Rotary Club of Miami for tremendous support of the project during the past Rotary year.

Happy $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ were contributed to Foster Care Kids. The club will be collecting suitcases and toys for children in the foster care system.

President Noreen Timoney introduced Past President Jay Almeida who provided a video tribute to Past President Tim Ryan showing Tim on video at our in-person meeting of July 8th at the Yacht Club. His video captured the wonderful spirit and personality of Tim.
President Noreen thanked Jay for a wonderful video tribute. President Noreen continued and shared that “Tim Ryan personified the Best of Humanity and the Rotary spirit. His loyalty and kindness were recognized as a friend and a Rotarian. Tim had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh; an ability to think of others and their wellbeing; a keen sense of what was important in life, and dedication to family, friends, and service. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.”
Following the tribute, club members shared stories about the privilege it was to know Tim Ryan. Special thanks were given to Don Van Orsdel and Norm Kassoff for their invaluable support to the family during this time. A Celebration of Life for Tim Ryan is scheduled for October 23, 2021.
President Noreen closed out this portion of the meeting with a special poem dedicated as a fond farewell to Tim Ryan.

President Noreen thanked all members and guests and everyone who helped with another successful meeting that was closed out with Arlene Terrinoni leading everyone in the Four-Way Test of the Things We Think, Say or Do.
