President Norby greeted everyone at 5:30PM.
We were pleased to welcome our special guests, District Governor Ray Williams, Key Biscayne Past-President Patti Urban, John Carroll’s wife Rosa and Bob Lapore, Cathy Cahill’s partner.
Norby had a goal to beat the prior weeks’ attendance of 18. We had a total of 33!
Tidbits...
- Oliver figured out how to change his virtual background and entertained us with the Spanish Steps and the Seattle Space Needle. Besides a few minor glitches, logging on went pretty smoothly. We will get even better each time.
- Stephanie Bull won this weeks’ $5.00 “Bonus Bucks” drawing. It can be applied to EREY immediately or used at a future meeting for Happy Dollars, 50-50 Raffle or towards a lunch.

“My son-in-law, Erik’s father passed away from sudden cardiac arrest Monday the 16th. Erik’s 2 sisters and their spouses and 2 young children came down from Pittsburgh and stayed with him. Van Orsdel Funeral Homes handled beautifully everything by staggering the viewing for the immediate family, then time for extended family, then time for friends so that the room for “physical distancing” was possible. My daughter and son-in-law were very impressed and grateful to the staff who handled everything so well. No question Don Van Orsdel overseas a class act!”
Diane Landsberg:
I made a lot of hand sanitizer with alcohol and aloe vera and put it in small containers. If anyone needs any, please let me know and I can leave some on my porch for pick-up.
Phil Seipp:
Member attendance has been posted for March that is required by the Rotary International. Everyone that has attended the Zoom meetings was counted.
A parting word from Jay Almeida!
The Rotary Club of Miami Public Image Chair is working 24/7 to promote our Club activities, including our zoom videoconferences, taking advantage of our stay-at-home status.
Since last week, we started posting daily inspirational messages to all of our social media platforms. This has resulted in hundreds of comments and sharing from our followers. 
It would be great if more members of our Club would share our posts in their social media platforms, allowing us to reach a much larger audience and helping us to promote the Rotary Club of Miami more than ever before. If you need help on how to do this, we can help!!!
