Guests and Visitors were to be introduced by Cory Gittner, but he had an easy job today since there were none.

May 9th meeting has been rescheduled to partner with the Interact meeting on Friday evening, May 10th at 6:30 at Diane Landsberg’s home;
May 15thMiami Lighthouse for the Blind Music Under the Stars. The club will reimburse you for one half of your ticket purchase if you attend;
May 4th 10:00 – 2:00 Board Retreat, for current and next year’s board;
May 2nd Speaker will be Richard Hall, Commodore of Miami Yacht Club.

Robert Bull gave thanks for all of the support during his procedure and thereafter. Robert brought us a banner from an English-speaking club in Bangkok;
Randy Lichtman was excited about today’s speakers, and gave us an update on the FIU Rotaract club;
MarciaBrod was happy for her daughter’s wedding, and family time in Orlando. She also shared a funny story about lot of shoe sole issues before and during the wedding;
Amelia Bonilla was thankful for Robert Bull’s recovery and her son’s first goal in soccer;
Greg Herman-Giddens gave $50 for being recognized for his 50 hours of pro bono service and induction into the Honor Roll;
Bunny Uriarte is happy for the students and their efforts and is happy that school is almost over and a move out of Miami is not on the horizon for her!
Diane Landsberg was happy for Robert’s recovery and also for NormKassoff’s performance at the Coconut Grove Rotary Club;
RobinShelley is happy for Robert’s recovery and StephanieBull’s role in his recovery;
NorbyRudel is happy for the upcoming board retreat. He is also going to focus during his year on recognition and support of the Armed Services with the assistance of Angel Rodriguez;
JayAlmeida showed our 2019 Outstanding Citizen award winner JosieBall, was highlighted in the Miami Herald’s Neighbors Section. He is also thrilled to be selected to be a part of the board for the 2026 World Cup to bring the World Cup to Miami;
DaveSkinner shared that both he and LindaSinger received jury duty summons for the same day in different courts, what are the chances of that???
Today’sprogramwas introduced by Randy Lichtman:
From the MDC Rotaract Club, Marie Feliu and Natalie Quade spoke. They are graduating Saturday. They stated the Wolfson Campus Rotaract started with 10-15 members two years ago and now has 50 active members. They received the Presidental Volunteer Service Award.
The Rotaractors discussed their experience with the Clinton Global initiative. They really enjoyed their time meeting people from all over the world.
Conflict resolution, through peer mediation and on campus violence reduction was their project and they were awarded one of the top 100 projects presented. They enjoyed the communication aspects and through the CGIU exchange.
During their trip, they engaged in the Day of Service event and chose Rise Against Hunger to contribute their time. Using assembly line fashion, 78,000 meals were made during those 2 hours!
We had $792 carried over from last week, and sold $83, so the 50/50 pot for today is $875. Thank you Renel Noel for handling the ticket sales. DianeLandsberg had the first ticket drawn but did not draw the lucky Ace of Spades :(
